As most of y'all know, Phil Purser got a little dehydrated after the run today, and while returning home we decided to let a paramedic at our Central Station check him out. The Paramedic on duty felt he could use an I.V. to get him back to a normal hydration level. Anyway, they hooked him up and Phil's color returned as if there was red food color in the drip bag. Within a few minutes he was looking ready to run another 16 miles when we left the station. Shout out to Kelvin for the great RN on the scene medical care he got, as well.
I'll blog more later, but had a good run/walk with Suzanne today. I am over trying to set new PR's every week, and with some recurring sinus crud and a little runner's knee trying to make a comeback, I was more than happy to walk a good portion of the 16 miles today. I hope you all had a great run today. I was very impressed with so many of you today. We are on the top of the hill looking down guys. From here on, we just need to keep the negative thoughts out, and keep on plugging away. The only thing that will stop us is our on self doubt and fears.

It was good to see you today.
You are right about the negative thoughts. From here on out it is just a mind game!
I am sorry Phil had problems today. I wonder if he needs a good ole once over from an internist. I did not see him after the race.

And we have each other to get us through that self doubt and fears. I did not know that about Phil. I hate to say this, but I can't picture who he is off the top of my head. I know I've met him. Anyway, good to see you out there today! Keep truckin'! You're doing great! Have a good week.
Thanks for letting us know about Phil. I was very worried. Glad you were there to get him to someone that could get an IV into him. We all need to watch him closely on these long runs. He is such a good guy!
Thanks for running/walking with me. Actually we only walked the last 6 miles so I don't feel so bad. Give yourself more credit than that!! We did pretty good considering. Suzanne
Great blog, Chuck. Also, very glad Phil bounced back quickly. Sorry, I do not know who he is either, but hope to meet him sometime before Chicago.

Hi Chuck:
It pays to know folks with friends at the Fire Station. So glad you were available to help put Phil on the road to a speedy recovery.
We got that 16 miler DONE!
Debra
Thanks for all of your help, big boy! That was some nice free connections you had there. I agree with everybody, that Phil needs a good physical in case of some underlying problem(s). For those who don't know who Phil is, he is the really good looking stud with salt/pepper hair that is my running partner. :-)
Kelvin
I'm glad you were there to help Phil. I didn't know about it until Christa called me Sunday. Scary, but I'm glad to know there are so many people able to help in case something happens.
Keep up the good work!
